“Authentic.” When trying to come up with a way to describe Ryan and Buddie’s wedding at the San Francisco Botanical Garden, authentic seemed to fit perfectly. That word not only fits the green and blue haired couple, but all of their guests. As part of their invite, the couple included a line typically not found in wedding invitations – “Guests are encouraged to wear their kink and queer outfits as we celebrate love and diversity in the city.” You may be thinking, that must have been an interesting wedding, and it was! Not because of any non-traditional wedding attire but because it was a thoroughly wonderful and interesting group of people. The couple welcomed guests in the morning with fresh pastries and coffee before heading over to the Redwood Grove for an intimate ceremony. Just weeks before, some strong winds had knocked down one of the giant trees and the venue was kind enough to save a piece of that tree for the couple to keep as a memento. Following the ceremony, guests were guided over to the Garden of Fragrance where they were treated to small bites and some of the couple’s favorite cocktails. The group rounded out their celebratory day with a tour around the City by motorized cable car. Thank you for sharing your authentic selves with us, Ryan and Buddie, we couldn’t be happier for you, congratulations!
