Fulfillment of a Vow Vowed

Sara and Adrian’s story began in October 2016 and, even though they met on a dating app, Sara wasn’t on the app looking for Adrian. Recently graduated from Berkeley and anxious about the job hunt, Sara signed up for OK Cupid not to find love, but to practice her elevator speech on unsuspecting dates. Adrian was her first date.

Within ten minutes of meeting, he asked what her “five-year plan was,” which made Sara wonder if he was sent by a firm looking for the next best sustainability consultant. Several drinks and an ice cream sundae later, she had determined that a) he was not a headhunter, and b) he was unexpectedly cute.

Before their second date, Sara landed a job. When they met the next time, he showed up with two pints of ice cream to celebrate because “he didn’t think she was a flower person.” Definitely not a headhunter, and also perceptive.

On their wedding day, guests enjoyed a ceremony on the Sculpture Terrace at the SFMOMA and were surprised with a lion dance performance in place of the recessional. After enjoying the galleries on the third floor, the group made the short trek over to Mourad, where they were treated to a phenomenal Moroccan dinner prepared by owner and Michelin Star Chef, Mourad Lahlou.
